Chief AI Strategist Chats About COVID-19 Healthcare Bots

Healthcare bot for call centers during COVID-19 crisis

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock (social distancing?), you know that healthcare providers worldwide are facing major challenges related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. One of these challenges is the rapid spike in call volume overwhelming call centers and providers. Many of the calls pouring in require human support to answer questions, but staffing and system capacity is significantly strained. In order to help providers on the frontlines of this crisis, we’re offering two healthcare bot solutions to organizations and workers, both of which follow CDC guidelines. One is focused on Microsoft Azure cloud users and one is built on Drift.

Healthcare Bot Offerings – Azure and Non-Azure

CRN, the top technology news and information source about solution providers, recently interviewed Perficient’s Chief AI Strategist and Managing AI Practice Director Christine Livingston about these offerings.

The first offering is the Microsoft Azure-based healthbot service that not only features templates for such things as checking symptoms, triage, and screening for mental health, but also COVID-19-specific templates for things like self-assessment and frequently-asked questions. This solution requires an existing Azure subscription for rapid deployment.

The other offering is Perficient’s open-source Drift COVID-19 Bot. This healthcare bot is for organizations that don’t have rapid access to Azure. It’s been designed for screening and care navigation with the goal of driving non-critical patients away from call centers in order to increase the capacity to help patients in need.
