Dev Ben (@devben.tech) on Threads

Today we have @devben.tech. Welcome @devben.tech, how did you get started with computer programming?

I’m excited to be part of Threads Dev Interview! Curiosity played a big role in sparking my interest in coding. I’ve always been amazed by the technology around us, wondering how giants like Google or intricate games are built. As I delved deeper, my curiosity evolved into a passionate drive to understand and create these innovations myself.and also my sister is QA so that makes me more involve in coding, After I build some website she will help me test it. And that how my journey began.

How many years have you been coding?

I started coding 4 years ago but been into computer 10 years ago

What is your favorite programming language?

Well I would say JavaScript but people don’t classify JS as programming language so Python 🐍

What types of projects are you currently working on? Web? Games? Work? School?

Am currently working on a hackathon project and also my startup project. First version will be website.

Who is the hackathon thru?

They’re more less like investors so they created an event were the submission of the hackathon will be made and the winner 🥇just show them your idea and some example. And my startup is resideace its a real estate / properties.

Take me thru your journey of learning to code. What did you start with? And where did you go next? Was it all self-taught?

Yes it’s all self taught I didn’t bought any course neither paid for boot camp but I make friends from all over the world, which I learn from them from their different aspects. I haven’t finished the journey yet cause learning never end.

How do you find you best learn new skills?

Am a video person I like watching videos to learn but if the language I want to learn is old and there’s no recent video I can use their original blog/docs., And from there I jump into building project.

What are some of your favorite resources for keeping up with tech and development?

Well I do use discord communities, YouTube channels, podcast, Newsletters, blogs and conferences/meetup.

Knowing what you do now, if you could go back 5 years, what is one piece of advice you would give to yourself regarding development?

Looking back over the past 5 years, if I could offer a piece of advice to my past self regarding development, it would be to embrace a growth mindset. I’ve learned that continuous learning, adaptability, and being open to new technologies are key. Also, seeking mentorship and networking within the development community.
