Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad OnesAtomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve long been intrigued by the premise of this book, and I agree that small changes can add up to change our lives to help us to get (or stay) productive, motivated, and happy. I did pick up a few useful tips so it’s worth the read. It has good anecdotes and tips, and it is very readable. I’ll sign up for James’ newsletter to keep on the path.
So the small changes add up, but they have to be the right changes for you. Clear does give tips on choosing habits that are right for you, and will be satisfying over the longer term because, for it to work, you need to pick behaviors that align with your personality and skills.
It has encouraged me to spend a short time each day meditating, journaling, and mindfully practicing gratitude. These cost me around 30 minutes each day, but, wow, what an investment of time. I am happier and more content already, and the journaling keeps me moving forward as a person.
Recommended book.
