Introduce Children to Machine Learning

It is Computer Science Education Week and in 2019 Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are two of the most popular and influential topics in technology. That is why I was so excited when Code.org launched a training specifically aimed at the topics.

It is called AI for Oceans and it is geared for children (or really anyone, I had fun with it and so did my children). It covers the following topics, and I thought it covered them well.

  • Training Data
  • Bias
  • Prediction
  • Machine Learning
  • AI

Here is the first video, but most of the training is very interactive and fun. So, go find a young person and join them in learning about Machine Learning and AI with AI for Oceans.

It cannot get any more absurd. Let children be children. Do not rob them of their childhood for your 2 minutes of cheap fame.

I am sorry you feel that way. Many children love to learn and this is an important topic.

Well, they’re not children per se. But I’ll show this to my college students in a course designed to introduce these topics to accounting students.

      Great idea
The game/activity does a good job of explaining the importance of good data and bias
