To further advance the integration of AI into healthcare, the £21 million boost will be available for NHS trusts to bid on AI diagnostic support tools. However, the bids must demonstrate value for money to secure funding approval. Successful applicants will gain access to AI imaging and decision support tools that expedite the diagnosis of conditions such as cancers, strokes, and heart conditions, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

Streamlined Regulations and Safety Measures

Recognizing the importance of the safe distribution of AI devices, the government has also launched the AI & Digital Regulations Service.
