Oracle’s 2014 Statement of Direction laid out its support strategy. Because Discoverer has been non-strategic since 2006, it’s a challenge for IT to successfully write reports. While it has many advantages, it’s not built to be a transactional reporting tool for day-to-day ad hoc analysis or easy drilling into data details.
