Duet AI for Workspace offered AI integration with Google’s popular applications like Docs and Gmail. The company also announced the launch of two plans, Gemini Business, and Gemini Enterprise, to help businesses of all sizes leverage AI for growth. Gemini Business — available for $20 per user per month with an annual subscription — will allow organizations to get started with generative AI. “This plan gives them access to Gemini for Workspace — including experiences like Help me write in Docs and Gmail, Enhanced Smart Fill in Sheets, and image generation in Slides…,” said the blog post. On the other hand, Gemini Enterprise will replace Duet AI for Workspace Enterprise. This plan offers the same capabilities as Gemini Business but with more usage. This is now available for $30 per user per month with an annual commitment. “It also includes additional capabilities for AI-powered meetings, where Gemini can translate closed captions in more than 100 language pairs, and soon even take meeting notes. Starting today, existing Duet AI for Workspace customers will be automatically upgraded to Gemini Enterprise,” said the blog post. “Gemini for Workspace will also include a new standalone experience to chat with Gemini, with enterprise-grade data protection,” added the blog post. This would be available for users of both Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise. Earlier this month, Google announced that it would replace its AI chatbot Bard with Gemini and that Duet AI for Workspace will become Gemini for Workspace. Google is lagging behind other tech majors in the race for dominance in AI as key competitors, like Microsoft, gain ground. Microsoft has invested in OpenAI, which disrupted the market by launching a generative AI tool, ChatGPT, in November 2022. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Enterprise last year to cash in on the growing interest in the enterprise segment to use generative AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency. ChatGPT’s subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus is available for $20 per month. Google hopes that its new offerings will help it gain a lead in the generative AI tools market. The generative AI market is likely to grow from $40 billion in 2022 to $1.3 trillion in 2032, according to a Bloomberg Intelligence report. Google’s new LLM Gemma Google also announced the introduction of new large language models, collectively called Gemma. Gemma will handle only text and has been developed from the same research and technology used to build its AI model, Gemini. Google also released “tools to support developer innovation, foster collaboration and guide responsible use of Gemma models.” “The main significance is that Google is making it easier for companies to get started in AI and Gen AI. By creating pre-packaged easy to access models that are built in with governance and training capabilities, it lowers the barrier of entry for all organizations,” said Ray Wang, principal analyst and founder of Constellation Research.
