The Ruler of Abu Dhabi, HH Sheikh Mohamed, has unveiled the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council. This move highlights the UAE’s commitment to embracing technological advancements and promoting innovation. The AIATC will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the country’s digital landscape, paving the way for a more efficient and sustainable future. With the UAE at the forefront of technological innovation, this initiative is a testament to the country’s commitment to leading the way in AI and advanced technology.

The council will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and strategies related to research, infrastructure and investments in artificial intelligence and advanced technology in Abu Dhabi.

The establishment of the AIATC reflects a strong belief in the importance of technological leadership in building the economy of the future. The council will develop plans and research programmes in collaboration with local and global partners to enhance Abu Dhabi’s status in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced technology. It complements Abu Dhabi’s strategy to position the Emirate as a world-leading hub for investments, partnerships, and talent in the sector.

The establishment of the AIATC is a manifestation of the bold vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness’ wise directives emphasising the importance of the sectors of the future. The council will contribute to enhancing and ensuring the continued development and prosperity of the post-hydrocarbon economy.

June last year, Digital Dubai announced the launch of the Dubai AI platform in partnership with the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), which allows users to easily and seamlessly access services and information about the city of Dubai across various sectors.

Dubai.AI has been developed in partnership with government entities in the emirate, which allows for populating it with accurate information and services from reliable sources, making them available to all users.

“Launching the Dubai.AI platform supports the emirate’s efforts to employ artificial intelligence applications in developing the sectors and services that matter most to members of the community, in a bid to meet their current and future needs. This is in line with the wise leadership’s vision to strengthen effective government partnerships and collaborate to launch initiatives and innovative solutions that employ the latest futuristic technologies,” Saeed Al Falasi, Director of Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence said.
