We keep feeding the monster data. We find ways to improve machine learning so that it requires orders of magnitude more data, e.g., deep learning with neural networks. My read of that narrative arc is that some truly weird tensions showed up circa 2001: Arguably, it’s the heyday of DW+BI. It’s a mess.
