Users view Hadoop as a technology for implementing new types of use cases

T he question of the most important drivers for using Hadoop shows a clear trend. Six out of ten responded: “Hadoop is a new technical platform for things we have not previously managed to do”. Three out of ten answered that Hadoop is a “technically better platform”. Only in midsize companies were these two drivers (“optimization through a technically better platform” with 40 percent and “implementation of new types of use cases” with 53 percent), relatively close together.
