When designating a metric as a KPI, this is your foremost consideration: depth of influence. Ignore the metrics produced as an experimental exercise nine months ago. Imagine the impact of those insights; it is well beyond Bounce Rates. That is why Bounce Rate garners more weight than Impressions, Awareness and other common metrics.
