It is possible to get good test and control groups (type of population, existing brand awareness, market penetration, competitive structures) for our experiments. I can't wait for the era of non-contextually shouting on TV/Radio/Magazines to die. Please keep these two humble lessons in mind.

Some have experimented with virality ( Pepsi Test Drive or Dove Beauty , etc.), Some have even tried original content (a la GoPro ), but originality without key integrations into the overall marketing strategy and media mix is hard to pull off/sustain. but commitment to uniqueness is inconsistent. They like simple things.

But it is not a key performance indicator. Because you are going to focus on metrics, sorry not metrics, key performance indicators, that have a direct line to the bottom-line of your company. My hypothesis is that TV/Radio/Magazines have created this bad habit. You'll get fired.
